Dorinda Dewanti, seorang ibu baru tidak mengetahui jika ibu yang memiliki golongan darah O berbeda dengan anaknya bisa menyebabkan kondisi bayinya kuning. Dori memiliki golongan darah O, sementara putranya, Lantang, memiliki golongan darah B positif.
Beruntung, setelah dilakukan terapi sinar di rumah sakit selama beberapa hari, kondisi Lantang kian membaik.
Apa yang terjadi jika ibu dengan golongan darah O melahirkan anak dengan golongan darah yang berbeda?
Perlu diketahui, karakter golongan darah O dikenal tidak mau ‘berkawan’ dengan golongan darah lain. Hal inilah yang akan terbawa ketika seorang perempuan bergolongan darah O sedang hamil.
Semasa kehamilan, ibu dengan golongan darah O menolak golongan darah lain. Kondisi ini menyebabkan terjadinya reaksi antigen dengan janin apabila diketahui bergolongan darah non O sehingga mengakibatkan peningkatan jumlah bilirubin pada bayi.
Seperti yang dituliskan dalam Unair News, Ketua Unit Koordinasi Kerja (UKK) II IDAI, dr. Toto Wisnu Hendrarto, dr., SpA(K, proses peningkatan billirubin pada bayi dapat disebabkan karena perbedaan golongan darah antara bayi dengan ibunya. Dan ternyata, perempuan dengan darah O memiliki risiko tinggi melahirkan bayi dengan hiperbilirubinemia level akut.
Menurutnya, selama proses kehamilan, darah ibu mentransfer nutrisi dan oksigen untuk bayi melalui tali pusar. Jika terjadi perbedaan golongan darah antara ibu dengan janin yang dikandung, maka darah ibu akan membentuk antigen, sehingga terjadi suatu reaksi antigen. Kondisi ini yang kemudian menghancurkan sel darah merah janin.
Jika tidak mendapatkan penanganan yang tepat dapat menyebabkan komplikasi berat hingga mampu mengganggu sistem saraf otak secara permanen.

Oleh karena itulah dr. Toto menganjurkan agar setiap ibu hamil perlu tahu golongan darah terlebih dahulu. Sayangnya, masih banyak ibu hamil yang tidak mengetahui golongan darahnya. Terbukti, menurut dr. Toto, sebanyak 90% pasien ibu melahirkan di RSUD Dr. Soetomo tidak mengetahui golongan darahnya.
Padahal, mengetahui golongan darah perlu dilakukan untuk mencegah risiko-risiko yang bisa terjadi. “Ketika sudah mengetahui bahwa ibu bergolongan darah O, maka dokter akan lebih waspada akan potensi bahaya ke depannya,” ujarnya.
Hal yang bisa dilakukan jika anak mengalami bilirubin tinggi karena golongan darah tidak sama
Jika ibu dengan golongan darah O mengandung dan melahirkan bayi dengan golongan darah berbeda, sebaiknya perlu menjalani pemeriksaan lebih lanjut dan tidak perlu buru-buru membawa anak pulang dari rumah sakit. Sebab, kondisi bayi dengan golongan darah berbeda dari ibu yang bergolongan darah O, baru akan terlihat setelah hari ke-3 atau seterusnya.
Selain itu, jika sudah diperbolehkan pulang oleh dokter, jangan lupa menjemur bayi di bawah sinar matahari. Idealnya, waktu paling efektif untuk menjemur mulai jam 07.00 WIB hingga 09.00, selama 15 hingga 30 menit.
